As registered psychologists with the Psychology Board of Australia, we are committed to upholding these principles in all aspects of our practice.
Confidentiality and Its Limits
Your privacy is crucial. The information shared during our sessions remains confidential. This means that what you discuss in therapy remains private and is not shared with others without your permission. However, there are some important exceptions where your Psychologist may need to break confidentiality: If they believe there is a risk of serious harm to you or someone else If a court issues a subpoena requiring your Psychologist to provide information.
When your Psychologist is legally required to report
What you share with your Psychologist is confidential, yet there are limits to this confidentiality in keeping with our professional code of ethics as Psychologists and mandatory reporters in New South Wales. These limits are in place to protect your safety and the safety of others. Your Psychologist will always discuss these situations with you first when possible.
Use of Technology in Our Sessions
To provide you with the best care possible, we may use: 1. A laptop to take notes during our sessions 2. Secure digital tools or paper records to help record important information. 3—AI-assisted note-taking tools. Any technology used complies with Australian Privacy Principles and professional standards. All information is securely stored with encryption protection. We remain responsible for all aspects of your care, regardless of the technology used. Please let your Psychologist know of valuable context which may relate to our record-keeping, and we will endeavour to take this context into account.
Payment Information:
Payment is required at the time of each session. We accept EFTPOS, credit cards, and direct bank transfers. Medicare rebates can be processed on the spot, where applicable. Fees are reviewed annually. We will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance of any fee changes.
Secure Storage of Your Information:
Your personal information is stored securely per the APS Code of Ethics and Australian privacy laws. This includes: Password-protected electronic records, Secure cloud storage with encryption, Limited access to authorised personnel only, Secure disposal of information when no longer required.
Cancellation and No-Show Policy.
We understand that circumstances sometimes prevent you from attending appointments. Our policy is: Please provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a 50% fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or no-shows will incur the full session fee. Weekends and public holidays are not counted in the notice period. You can cancel by phone, text message, or email This policy exists because your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. We can offer this time to other clients waiting for an appointment with adequate notice. In truly exceptional cases, the Principal Psychologist may modify these conditions on a single occasion for each client. We have a legal and ethical obligation to sustain a profitable practice for our employees and community, and maintaining healthy boundaries on fees supports these obligations.
