Individual therapy that respects your time, your intelligence and your story.

One-on-one sessions for adults (16+) in Quakers Hill — for anxiety, depression, anger, burnout, addictions, grief, neurodivergence, men's issues and the crossroads moments in between.

What it's like

No couch. No psychobabble. Real collaboration.

You sit down with a straight-talking psychologist who listens hard, asks sharp questions, and tells you the truth with respect. The first few sessions establish two things: what you actually want to change, and whether we're the right fit. Both matter.

From there, every session has a purpose. We chart your patterns — the triggers, the habits, the beliefs running under the surface — and build a toolkit you can use the same week. Between sessions you'll practise. Both of us do the heavy lifting.

What we can work on

  • Anxiety and worry — the racing mind, panic, perfectionism, decision paralysis. Read Allan's approach to anxiety.
  • Depression and flatness — low energy, lost motivation, the grey fog. Read Allan's approach to depression.
  • Anger and stress — the short fuse at home or on site, and what's underneath it.
  • Work and career — burnout, workplace conflict, career crossroads, WorkCover recovery and return to work.
  • Relationships and family — repeating patterns, separation, parenting pressure, attachment styles.
  • Habits and addictions — alcohol, gambling, pornography, doom-scrolling and other escape hatches.
  • Life transitions — divorce, redundancy, fatherhood, health scares, the question of "what now?"

Other areas include OCD, panic disorders, grief and loss, bullying, assertiveness, shyness and social skills, academic performance, and personal development. If your situation needs a different specialist, I'll say so and help you find one — that's an ethical obligation I take seriously.

The methods (and why they work)

I use evidence-based approaches matched to you, not a one-size-fits-all script:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — catch unhelpful thoughts before they spiral; test them against reality; respond differently.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — unhook from the mental noise, make room for hard feelings, and move toward what you actually value. Curious, not furious.
  • Emotion-Focused and schema-informed work — for the deeper patterns that started long before the current problem.

The goal is never to need me forever. We aim for 5–10% better, bank it, and build. Some clients need two sessions and a sounding board. Others work with me for a year as their goals evolve. You set the pace.

Fees, rebates and times

Individual sessions are $250. With a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP you may claim a Medicare rebate of over $98 per session, for up to ten sessions per calendar year. Sessions run Monday and Wednesday evenings (from 5:30pm) and Saturdays 8am–1pm at BREED Quakers Hill — built for people who work full-time.

You've read this far. That's not nothing.

Most clients say they wish they'd reached out sooner. Book a first session and see if we're a fit — that's all the commitment you need to make today.
